Posted in America's Castles, Historical Sites at 2:50 pm by Kendal

A Palace in Washington D.C.

Taking the design from an Irish Palace on the north Façade and a  suggestive link to a French Chateau on the South Façade this house is more than meets the eye. From Street level, it seems to rise only two floors but this is very deceiving as it actually arises six complete floors. This Palace has had many names and seen many changes but still is one of America’s most recognized homes today.

Circa 1700’s

It has been called many of names through outs it history President’s Palace, Presidential Mansion, President’s House, Executive mansion, and the Present day White House. Fun facts about the White house is it was never lived in by George Washington, It has been interiorly redesigned, resized, and even had exterior changes since its construction.

It is open for tours.
