Country Music Festival, France

Country Music Festival; Mirande, France

(pic above of John Schneider taken at the festival this year)

Every year in France is one of the largest country music festivals in the world (if not the largest country music festival in the world).  This festival is great fun for all; as it has a mixture of French Country Bands, Celtic Bands and USA country music singers.

In the past and present this music festival has been host to many USA television stars and people from the USA.  People flocks here from all parts of the world for this festival that happens during the 14th of July every year.

With a host of events; this is fun for all as (!) the crowd is large and the energy is high.  You can always find a great little restaurant to dine from the crowd.  There are too many things to mention; America Car Show, Music, Eating, Shopping, Mechanical Bull Riding, Harley Davidson Show, Beer Tents, and many more things to do.

The hit of the Show this year was John Schneider (Bo Duke / Jonathan Kent).

Each year I look forward to certain festivals in France and this one truly is a crowd pleaser for me and everyone that attends. There is so much socializing, dancing, and so much western clothing these days, I am always reminded of home.

Amtrak, USA

Amtrak is the most extensive train network in the USA, it can take you to the point where you can take a great hound (bus service) and this can just about get you to any part of America. Excluding the very rural areas, and yes there are many untouched places that still exist in the USA.

To find out more about Amtrak..

The ride is an adventure within itself especially when you have a window seat.

Fourth Of July, USA

Posted in Holidays at 12:41 am by Kendal

4th of July 2008

The fourth of July is uniquely different than most holidays as it is also a birthday party.  It is the birth of a nation when different europeans came together and invented in what we now know of the United States of America.

Traveling about the world I have been asked.  What is so great about the USA?  Well, My answer is always the same.  “The thing that seemed to work and make it a decent place was a common language with a large land mass.  The land mass, states, and providences basically encompasses any climate range one could wish.  With the common tongue (although there is spanish and native languages that survive) it makes it easy to move about and communicate in your new culture  and it seems you can always find one area that you seem to fit. As most people knows it is very culturally different from one area to the next.  All these things make it good and great”

and one more thing,  Happy Birthday United States of America..
